Dr. Astrid Ruth von Walter earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California in 2008. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center, followed by a two-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at The George Washington University Hospital in 2014. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and has been published in the prestigious Green Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology as well as Postgraduate Obstetrics & Gynecology, a biweekly publication for continuing medical education.
von Walter has special interests in Lifestyle Medicine and peri/menopausal care. She is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. She is passionate about helping patients implement evidence-based lifestyle changes that promote lifelong health and wellness. Her clinical interests also include the treatment of routine and complex benign gynecologic conditions, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including Da Vinci® robotic-assisted laparoscopic procedures, and office-based procedures such as diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. von Walter enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, being active in her church community, spending time in nature, and playing the piano, guitar, and violin.
